Bespoke Builds

Cnwc y Gwili, Abergwili
The Site
Cnwc y Gwili is a quiet development of 5 three-bedroom bungalows and 6 four-bedroom houses on the doorstep of Carmarthen.  With stunning views along the Towy Valley towards historical Merlin’s Hill it is a delightful location.

The Location
Abergwili is a popular village just a mile out of Carmarthen on the A40.  It has a rich and varied history – from the mysteries of Merlin’s Hill (where, legend has it, Merlin himself was imprisoned) to the beautiful museum on the site of the old Bishop’s Palace where the New Testament was first translated into Welsh.  The museum gives a fascinating insight into the history of the village.

The Design

The houses combine formal elegance with modern style and space and are been designed with the family in mind.  The ground floor offers a spacious lounge that opens out to the patio and rear garden. The Kitchen/family area is for everyday living, with a formal dining room for those special meals and a quiet study area for anyone needing to get away from the noise of daily life. A wide reception hallway with feature hardwood staircase rises to the first floor. The master bedroom has a generous dressing area and elegant en-suite shower room and there is also a second en-suite bedroom for guests. There are also two further large bedrooms with a separate family bathroom.

The bungalow has been thoughtfully designed with both the growing and more mature families in mind.  Once again, it combines modern style and space with traditional elegance to provide two distinct areas to the property.  On the one hand there is a spacious and open living area and on the other a more private and discrete arrangement for the bedrooms. The open-plan kitchen and family room has been designed to accommodate the needs of everyday life.  Whilst conveniently linking to the integral garage via the utility room it also opens onto the patio and rear garden.  For a more peaceful retreat from the heart of the home there is a separate and impressively sized lounge. The generous entrance hall links this side of the property to the sleeping area. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there are two further large bedrooms and a separate well furnished bathroom.
